It appeared to the casual observer to be in fair condition and just about habitable. However I (Kevin) have had a fair amount of experience in house construction and realised that major remedial work was required but it still required further than even I had expected. The rotten floors were obvious but the extent of perished plasterwork was not foreseen. 85% of all interior plasterwork including ceilings had to be renewed.
